Melboden Pizzeria: website and staff portal
Melboden is a pizzeria in a flour storehouse from 1742 at Bærums Verk, outside Oslo. New owners took over in 2025 and needed two things: a website that suited the place, and an easier way to plan rotas for seven staff than spreadsheets. Both were delivered in summer 2026 and are in daily use.
The website
Nine pages: home, menu, take-away, private events, gift cards, about, contact, privacy and terms. The design starts from the building and the food, the copy was written in Norwegian together with the owners, and the site carries menu and opening-hours data for Google.

The staff portal
A separate app at ansatt.melboden.net for owners and staff. The manager plans the month, staff see their shifts, submit requests and swap shifts from the phone.
- Rota suggestions from AI that respect requests, closed days and rest rules
- Shift requests in green, amber and red, month by month
- Shift confirmation, 'can't make it' with a reason, and swaps between colleagues
- Menu, opening-hour periods and notices published to the website
- Events shown on the homepage
- E-mail on publish, calendar subscription and payroll data as CSV
What it means in practice
The owners no longer need a developer to change a price or add a holiday closure. They do it in the portal and the website updates within a couple of minutes. The rota goes out by e-mail, staff confirm on the phone, and the payroll data arrives as a file each month.
